Supporting Youth Supporting their Community - Film and Creative Arts

Young Stars Movie Production (YSMP) is launching their new movie premiere entitled "WHO TO BLAME" scheduled to be held on the 6th March, 2020 at Pencha- mi Hall here in The Gambia.

The movie ”WHO TO BLAME” is a deeply rooted cultural movie within the Gambian society. Earlier this year, YSMP launched two powerful Gambian movies namely: "The Shadow of Our Culture” which aimed at bringing back our dying culture and "The Twist" that teaches how the use of alcohol can bring confusion in our society. This is done alongside with a series film called "LICHI KERR GI" which is about discouraging illegal migration.Earlier this year, we had launched two powerful Gambian movies namely: "The Shadow of Our Culture” which aimed at bringing back our dying culture and "The Twist" that teaches how the use of alcohol can bring confusion in our society. An amazing must see, must support film, Young Stars Movie Production (YSMP), cast and crew. The CEO my young brother through our connection has his PDACE Mentor and now a fully fledged Global Community Hub Member Partner and Universial Tree Ltd’s Creative Arts Team Manager in The Gambia. Modoulamin Sowe, (causally known as ML), is an amazing character, film director, writer, mentor, teacher and leader. This king of kings is so inspiring and should be supported as he does not just do for himself but for the community in which he serves, to help change lives for the better. This young king has being doing amazing work in his community such as empowering the youth from a very early age. Now has a young adult, he supports his community by providing opportunities for young people in order to prevent and stop young Gambia from fleeing from their homes to seek a better life, earn a secure income or what seems to be better opportunities or just a job which leads them into being tortured and into slavery. King ML   as what we call him, in his; (“I don’t know where he finds time in his schedule”), teaches for free to his young community various subjects, he is truly amazing, in between making bricks, labouring and working with us and part of our Universal Tree family. As some of you may know we have just completed part 1 of our “back to the furture” project research “Children of the African diaspora tours; 23rd November 2019 - 5th January 2020. Which Strengthened our mindset of unity and working collectively to impact change and achieve our goals. History being the blueprint to how we can achieve this and do more than just survive but with our due accreditation and acceptance of our achievements and contributions to the world to which we have done so far including to outstand the constant, deliberate destruction of a race, image and history, that not even the people see because of the way in which the media and colonial education has played a huge part to demonise or hide our very existence through racism.

This is why media, books, films, news all forms of creative arts, reporting, fact finding and sharing of information  is extremely important from the black perspective and by blacks, the Africans and their children of the African Diaspora.

Thus the reason I passionately support Young Stars Movie Productions Team and the CEO, staff, students, Crew and all involved in making this movie happen, I am both Honoured and Proud of this, as well as being invited as guest of honour.
